Autumn Short Breaks

The days are shortening and the weather is cooling but our welcome is as warm as ever. Norfolk’s many nature reserves (NWT Thorpe Marshes is right across the road) have an influx of seasonal migrants and there are many attractions to see in Norwich including the Norman Castle and Cathedral, the newly re-branded Museum of Norwich Life (formerly the Bridewell Museum) with its fascinating history of the city of Norwich, as well as the  Forum and Millennium Library. If you fancy some retail therapy, Norwich features among the Top 10 UK Retail Destinations with all the major retailers, two shopping malls, Jarrold’s Department Store (twice winner of the UK Independent Department Store of the Year) plus an eclectic mix of independents in the Norwich Lanes. Or perhaps you just fancy a quiet break, relaxing with a good book in the Drawing Room.

Whatever you like to do, The Old Rectory is the perfect place for a short break: accommodation in one of our individually styled guest rooms, a delicious, seasonal 2 AA Rosette dinner each evening in our elegant, candlelit Dining Room and of course a freshly cooked English Breakfast are all included in the price. Available Monday – Saturday inclusive from £175 per room per night for two adults sharing; minimum two night stay with dinner taken on at least two evenings.

For stays of three nights or more, a deposit for the first night will be taken at time of booking from the credit / debit card used to guarantee your reservation.

When booking a Short Break online, please let us know your preferred time for dinner; we will book your table at the nearest available time and email you to confirm.

To book a Short Break which includes a Sunday night, please book Bed & Breakfast and let us know which evenings you would like dinner and your preferred time – we will amend your booking to the appropriate Short Break tariff and confirm by email.

One night only?

If you can only get away for one night do give us a call on 01603 700772 as we may have last minute availability for a single night stay with dinner included.

Cancellation: We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable and we always try to be fair and reasonable if you need to cancel your booking. Since we are such a small property however, any cancellation or non-arrival affects us significantly and if we are unable to secure an alternative reservation, we do reserve the right to charge for bookings cancelled within our cancellation window.

The length of your stay determines the amount of notice you need to give us to avoid cancellation charges. For example if your booking is for a single night, you only need to give us one days notice if you need to cancel i.e by noon the day before you are due to arrive, whereas if your reservation is for four nights you would need to let us know four days prior to your arrival if you are unable to take up your booking. If you are staying a week or longer, you must let us know at least one week before your arrival date that you are no longer able to come.

Alternative cancellation terms may apply to multiple room bookings and we will agree these with you at time of booking. A deposit will be required for bookings of three nights or more.

Advance Purchase (Prepay) rates are for a specific date(s) and are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
